Walnut & Olivewood Rollerball Pens

Here are two new rollerball pens I was recently commissioned to make to be used as birthday gifts.  The first is Olivewood with black titanium fittings and the second is walnut with black titanium fittings.  Both have some great looking wood and grain in them that are nicely complimented by the black metal grip, threads, and clip.  This particular pen style conveniently allows the cap to be posted by screwing it onto the back end of the pen when writing with it.  The cap screws onto the front as well to make sure the cap stays secured to the pen and keeps the ink from drying out when not in use.

They both use a standard Schmidt rollerball ink refill that is very smooth to write with and puts down a nice heavy line of ink.  For those of you not familiar with the differences between a standard ballpoint pen and a rollerball pen, a rollerball pen attempts to combine a ballpoint tip with liquid ink similar to what is used in a fountain pen.  If you’ve used a gel refill before and liked it you would most likely enjoy a rollerball pen as well.  Just a word of caution though, this ink will dry out if left uncapped for a while.

The wooden display boxes were both laser engraved with quotes handpicked by the client.  The interior of each box has a black felt insert with a cut-out for each pen that keeps the pen secure inside of the box.

Thanks for looking!
